In this section you will find the information what to do if you are not at home at the moment of the package delivery, or in case if you have missed the package delivery. Remember that you must receive the package on the first day of delivery.
Follow the instructions below:
If you cannot stay at home
During the day of arrival of postal service vehicle, you have to stay at home. If you cannot stay at home, there are two ways how to fix this problem:
- Make a door tag and hang it on the door. There should be the following signature on the door tag: “Dear postal service courier! Please leave the package in front of the back door. Thank you!” On the door tag you must indicate the name of receiver(s) (if you are waiting for more than one package) and any safe place convenient for you where the courier can leave the package.
- Ask your neighbors/spouse/relatives to receive the package to your mailing address instead of you. Inform your receiver beforehand about the name of the receiver on the package, if it doesn’t match yours.
If you have missed the package delivery
- Give a call to the local postal office and find out where a driver of the truck is. In some cases you may obtain the result when the courier truck will come to you one more time.
- Find a special tag on the door that a courier left for you. It has its individual number, and there you can find the numbers of the packages, that the courier tried to deliver to you. Provide your supervisor with the individual number of the tag and the picture by email. Give a call to the local postal office and specify the time of repeat delivery.
Remember the rules:
- The maximum amount of deliveries in all postal services is 3 attempts. If you cannot receive the packages within those three days for the excuse reason, you should give a call to the local postal office and ask them to hold the package at location. The time of the package’s storage is 5 days.
- In case of your long absence, inform your supervisor in advance and find a person who can receive the packages instead of you.
