2. How to receive packages

This section contains information about the order in which you receive packages and envelopes from from postal services.


Follow this order for receiving packages

  1. Receive New Task. In the tasks system, receive a new task with the tracking number and postal service name.
  2. Check Delivery Details. Verify the delivery date and approximate time on the postal service website. Incorporate this time into your schedule.
  3. Monitor Delivery Day. Confirm the delivery time on the day and ensure there are no changes.
  4. Receive Package. Accept the package from the courier, ensuring it has no significant damage.
  5. Store Package. Place the package in the storage area for further inspection.

Additional Information About Packages

  • Packages are delivered by various services including FedEx, UPS, USPS, Amazon Delivery, and OnTrac. If unfamiliar with a service, find information online.
  • Packages arrive in postal service vehicles, identifiable from illustrations provided:

Delivery speeds vary: Overnight, 2nd-Day, and Ground (up to 7 days). Most packages weigh up to 15 lbs and are small to medium-sized. Large packages and envelopes are also delivered; envelopes go to the post box, while couriers handle large packages.

Do not open envelopes addressed to clients without supervisor approval.


Delivery Options for Packages

  • Without signature. Packages will be left on your doorstep even if you are not at home. If there is a risk of theft, you must receive these packages in person or place a door tag where to leave incoming packages.
  • Signature Required. A signature is needed to receive the package. If no one is home, the package won’t be delivered. This ensures the package is handed over personally.
  • Adult Signature Required. The recipient must be over 21 years old to sign. This option adds an age verification requirement.

Remember the rules

  1. Accepting Packages. Accept and receive any package delivered to your address, even if not on the task list. Inform your supervisor via the tasks panel or text message.
  2. First Delivery Attempt. Receive packages on the first delivery attempt. Services usually make up to three attempts, after which packages are returned to the sender. The second and third attempts are allowed only with a valid excuse.
  3. Authorized Receipt. You can sign for packages under any name and sign documents required for delivery.
  4. Be Home. Be home on delivery day. If you can’t, ensure someone follows the mentioned rules to receive the package.
  5. Postal Office Pickup. If you need to pick up a package at a post office, notify your supervisor and obtain a letter of authorization from the customer to pick up the package.
  6. Package Safety. You are responsible for the condition and safety of the packages. Handle items carefully. In case of theft, report to the police and provide a police report and the inspector’s contact information.
